Our Founding Story
At All Temperature Service Air Conditioning Inc, family is at the heart of everything we do. Founded in 1984 by Richard Lowder, our company has flourished under the leadership of his son, James Lowder, who now serves as our CEO. From its humble beginnings in the Lowder family’s living room, ATS has grown into a premier HVAC company, with operations spanning San Jose, Silicon Valley, San Fransisco and the Greater Bay Are.
In 2004, tragedy struck when Richard Lowder suddenly passed away while servicing a home, leaving a profound impact on our company and community. His son, James Lowder, demonstrated remarkable strength and dedication by finishing the service call where his father had been working. Alongside his brother Stephen Lowder, who plays a crucial role as Vice President of Operations, James stepped up to lead ATS forward, embodying the values of integrity and perseverance that define our company.
Our Vision and Dedication
Richard’s dedication to excellence and his passion for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems inspired him to establish ATS with a vision of providing exceptional service to our community. As a graduate of San Jose City College HVAC program and with the steadfast support of his beloved wife, Dolores, Richard transformed his dream into a reality.
As the company continued to expand, operations moved from the living room to the garage, reflecting the family’s commitment to growth and innovation. ATS remains committed to serving our community with the same passion and dedication that has defined us since the beginning.
Growth and Innovation
Initially, ATS focused on residential HVAC services, but under James Lowder’s leadership, the company transitioned to commercial projects. Collaborating with our Director of Engineering and CA State Appointed Building Standards Commissioner, James Haskin, ATS expanded its services to include commercial HVAC and Plumbing. Today, we are a leading provider of commercial services and construction in the region.
Richard’s legacy lives on as ATS continues to thrive under James’s leadership. At ATS, we remain dedicated to carrying forward Richard’s vision, guided by the principles of integrity, respect, and excellence.
